Ashwicken Heath
Former sand quarry restored to breck-type grassland, bushes and strips of water. Private land but viewable from public paths. Other parts of the adjacent Sibelco-owned restored sand workings at Bawsey, Ashwicken, Leziate open to the public.
Species: Spring/Summer: Nightjar, Woodlark, Warblers and Sand Martins. Rest of the year: quiet!
