Roydon Common

The largest surviving open heath in west Norfolk, including primaeval bog. Site adjoins Grimston Heath, Rising Heath and The Delft, all managed by Norfolk Wildlife Trust.

Species: Winter: Most notable as Hen Harrier roost. Also Merlin and occasional Great Grey Shrike. Spring/Summer: Stonechat, Curlew, Woodlark, Nightjar.

Access: Free public access. Car park almost 1 mile east of A149 Knights Hill at TF680229.
